SBP

If you're wondering why it's been a while since we last updated, there are two reasons. 1) we have been living in a hotel since the end of May. 2) we have been living in a hotel since the end of May.

Let me explain....
Every summer, we pack up our family (which grows significantly every other summer) and make the 4 hour drive to Myrtle Beach, SC. Now, before you gush "ohh...tough life" or "wow, must be nice."... Give me a second. Yes, we live at the beach for a month, and yes there are perks. Namely having a pool outside your door and a beach across the street.

The SBP is an amazing thing, and as a student I wanted to live there all year. But the SBP hasn't been so sweet to us since having kids. I think I made a record "never been done" by leaving a week early...for the second time in 3 years. So what happened? My toddler freaked out about staying with babysitters she dosen't know well. My infant ran a fever for almost a week, contracted strep throat, and woke up 4 times almost every night. That same week, I got what we will call "virus of the century". Only to give it to the toddler 2 days later. Overwhelmed yet? Me too. So, we packed up 3 of the 4 of us (hubby couldn't leave because he was singlehandedly managing the chaos of 147 college students) and headed to my in laws.

The SBP chewed us up and spat us out. But you know what? It was worth it. It was worth it to have one conversation with a young believer and watch her hear truth and be changed. It was worth it for students who have no idea how a healthy family functions, to watch us love eachother and our kids. It was worth it to be with my husband for 3 weeks as he worked insane hours so that he could find a little rest and normalcy in our family.

Everyone is relatively healthy now. After lots(!) of doctors visits and long nights, we are more than happy to be home! Thank you all for your prayers for us, the SBP and the 147 college students who will never be the same when these 8 weeks are over!
